350 Bleecker has become the desirable building in the townhouse section of the West Village. Bleecker Street is named for Anthony Bleecker, (b1770), a lawyer and poet who was friends with Washington Irving and William Cullen Bryant, as the street ran through his farm. Bleecker Street was also immortalized in Simon & Garfunkel's debut album, released in 1964, a tribute to it's long history as a musical and comedy strip. Today, the stretch of Bleecker between Bank and Christopher Streets, encompassing 350 Bleecker, has become a chic shopping street, with Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, Brunello Cucinelli, and Intermix, among many others.
